BIB Will Defend Belarus National InterestsThe chairman of the Belarusian Popular Front says the creation of the Belarusian Independent Bloc is a historic event.Alyaksei Yanukevich stated this in an interview to RFE/RL. “I am sure, this is a historic event. This initiative does not have short-term aims, it is a forward thinking approach to real political, economic, and energy independence. Only independence gives an opportunity for successful defence of the country’s national interests. It unites the forces that can defend the national interests of Belarus. That’s why we have called ourselves the Belarusian Independent Bloc.
