The Rada of the Belarusian Democratic Republic (BNR) in exile, convened for its XXVII plenary session in London on the 18th April 2010, has adopted a resolution titled “Against the Construction of Nuclear Power Station in Belarus.”

13.04.2010 Belarusian Opposition Protests in Prague
Prague, Feb. 14 - About 20 young people with historical Belarusian flags and banners featuring opposition representatives Tatiana Shaputska and Auhien Afnahel staged a rally protesting the persecution of democratic youth organizations in Belarus yesterday.
13.04.2010 Mort Wins 2009 Lannan Literary Award
Valzhyna Mort was born in Minsk, Belarus in 1981. Her first collection, I’m as Thin as Your Eyelashes, was published prior to her moving to the U.S. in 2005. Her first US poetry collection is Factory of Tears (Copper Canyon Press, 2008), co-translated by the husband-and-wife team of Elizabeth Oehlkers Wright and Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Franz Wright. The book has been translated into Swedish and Russian. It is the first Belarusian-English poetry book ever published in the U.S.
11.01.2010 CBS Symposium at Southwestern College
The Center for Belarusian Studies at Southwestern College organized and held a major symposium October 6 and 7, 2009, on the topic “Higher Education and Civil Society in Belarus.” The conference - held on Southwestern’s campus in Winfield, Kansas - brought together leading specialists in the subject area from Belarus, from the North America Belarusian Diaspora, and from the diplomatic arena.
11.01.2010 Khalip Gets Journalism Award
The prestigious Courage in Journalism Award of the International Women’s Media Foundation (IWMF) was granted to the famous Belarusian journalist, Iryna Khalip, in New York on October 20, 2009. Khalip won the award together with Cameroonian reporter, Agnes Taile, and a journalist from Iran, Jila Baniyaghoob.
05.07.2009 Congress of New Belarusian Diaspora
The Second Congress of the New Belarusian Diaspora of Europe and the USA took place in Strasbourg, France, on April 24-28, 2009. The New Belarusian Leaders Forum: Renaissance Generation addressed the matters of cooperation between the EU and Belarus united the representatives of the younger cohort of Belarusian émigrés in the EU and the USA.

A series of events with the participation of the Belarusian opposition's representatives took place in the Czech capital on May 4-7 in the framework of the 'Belarusian Days in Prague'.
05.07.2009 Exhibition of Belarusian Posters Revisits Brussels
On April 24 sunny Brussels hosted the opening of the exhibition ‘Visual code of the time: post-Soviet poster art in Belarus’. It was the second presentation of this exhibition in Brussels. After the Administration Communale d’Evere and Curieus Evere, the Centre culturel Forest expressed its great interest in presenting Belarusian posters to Brussels’ public.
